    Permanently remove hyperlinks

    Is there any way to permanently remove hyperlinks?

    I followed the advice at

    http://www.ehow.com/how_2322386_remove-hyperlinks-microsoft-excel.html 

    and it worked temporarily, but when you go back and double click on a cell that formerly had a hyperlink, and then highlight another cell, the hyperlink returns to the cell that was double clicked.

    Check your auto-correct settings

    (xl2007) Office Button - Excel Options - Proofing - AutoCorrect Options - Auto Format as you type - Uncheck Internet and Hyperlinks as you type.
