Application is being forced to shut down when trying to import a Microsoft Excel 2000 spreadsheet

    Hello,

We offer a construction vertical quotation program management software application which allows importing Excel spreadsheets. A customer of ours has Excel 2000 installed on their machine and receives the following Dr. Watson error message:

    Application exception occurred:
            App: C:\Program Files\SpeedyQuote\SpeedyQuote.exe (pid=2776)
            When: 9/1/2009 @ 14:00:04.754
            Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

All other versions of Excel works has been smoothly with every other customer.

Can someone confirm if there's a bug fix for this Excel 2000 issue?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Michael

    Michael,

The Dr Watson error only shows that SpeedyQuotes.exe was the problem application.  You've mentioned that it was Excel 2000, but what operating system?

I'd recommend setting up a test machine which mirrors your client's configuration to test for errors.

    Regards, Matthew
